Partial Differential Equations
This course will give an introduction to partial differential equations.
Organisational Details
Lectures
Lectures will be on:
- Monday at 10:15-11:45 in Hörsaal IV and
- Wednesday at 10:15-11:45 in Hörsaal IV.
Questions/Forum
We will use the CMS-forum, there you can ask questions and share your files and notes with each other.
Also you can just write me an e-mail at "my-lastname"@math.uni-sb.de or just pass by my office in room 3.03 in building E2 4.
Exercise
Exercise sheets will be posted on a weekly basis. The solutions should be submitted electronically per CMS each week and can be handed in as a fixed group of up to 3 students. Each week there will be tutorials where the exercise sheets will be discussed together with some presence exercises.
On each exercise sheet up to 30 points can be achieved. You also get 10 points for attending the tutorial and additional 10 points for active participation.
While there will be no minimal amount of points needed for the admission for the exam, it will be considered as small bonus for the exam.
Tutorials
The tutorials will take place Fridays from 8:30 to 10 o'clock in SR 9. The first tutorial will be 17th of April.
Examination
Depending on the number of participants there will be either a written or an oral examination at the end of the semester.
Prerequisites
You should have completed Analysis 1-3 and Linear Algebra 1-2 or equivalent before taking this course.
