Notes about tools used
Zoom
There will be two weeks of online lectures and tutorials. We would like to have a good atmsophere with personal interaction even throughout these two weeks - an enabled camera and microphone can help with this. Of course this is voluntary, you are allowed to keep camera and microphone disabled and even register under a pseudonym. Even in that case, questions, for example via the chat, will still be posssible.
We have decided on using Zoom as our video conference system and would like to point out that the provider (Zoom Video Communications, Inc., 55 Almaden Blvd, Suite 600, San Jose, CA 95113, USA) is able to access your data given during your registration during your participation of the lecture. If you have given no personal information when registering there, then it may still be possible to link to your person via your IP-Adress. We wouldn't have decided on using Zoom if we would see a significant risk in this and have decided on the usage of european data centers. If you still have concerns we recommend the usage of anonymisation services like Tor (https://www.torproject.org/).
