High-Level Computer Vision Bernt Schiele Advanced Lecture (6 CP), Summer Semester 2023

Assignment 3 is now released on GitLab. Please refer to the new note in the README (either on upstream or your fork) for updated merge instructions. 

Due to the slightly delayed release this week, the deadline is Wednesday, June 7, 23:59 CEST, and as usual, the latest commit on the main branch of your fork will be considered.

The following Monday (May 29) is a holiday. So, in the meantime, you can submit your doubts and questions related to this assignment via the forum or email or during our office hours on Wednesdays.

You can find your scores for assignment 1 on the CMS. The individual feedback for questions is released on the Issues section on your private Gitlab fork. (e.g. https://gitlab.cs.uni-saarland.de/hlcv/ss23/team[TEAM NUMBER]/-/issues)

You can simply reply to the issue to further discuss the feedback. Please tag @all in your reply so that we get notified.

The lecture tomorrow will be held in E1.5, Room 029 (MPI-SWS building, ground floor, enter the building and go to the end of the narrow corridor on the right). They will be continue to be in E1.4 024 from next week.

You can now get the Assignment 2 from the upstream repository. Please refer to the README (either on upstream or your fork) for instructions on how to merge the new assignment on your private fork.

The deadline is Monday, 22 May, 23:59 CEST, and the latest commit on Main branch will be considered.

Similar to the previous assignment, feel free to submit your questions via the forum, email, or the upcoming tutorial sessions.

Dear all,

The repositories for submitting the assignments have now been created. You should be able to access them at https://gitlab.cs.uni-saarland.de/hlcv/ss23/teamN, where N is your team number in the CMS. Please note that your assignment solutions need to pushed to your own team repository, not to the upstream repository.

Some of the students did not submit their GitLab username or submitted an invalid username, and so would not yet have access to their repositories. Please check and submit a valid username so we can provide you access, by April 28. For example, if your account URL is https://gitlab.cs.uni-saarland.de/xyz, then your username is xyz.

You might not have received access also if you submitted your username but did not form a team of at least two students. In this case, please form teams of at least two as soon as possible in the CMS, latest by April 28. The forum can be used to find teammates, or alternatively, if you would like us to assign you to a team, please let us know by writing to hlcv-ss23@lists.mpi-inf.mpg.de.

Assignment 1 is now available in the CMS Materials page. The submission deadline is on May 8, 2023 at 23:59 CEST.

Submissions are to be made via GitLab, and the last commit before the deadline will be evaluated. We will provide access to your GitLab repositories once all the teams have been formed.

We will be using GitLab for the assignments this year. Each team will be provided a repository at https://gitlab.cs.uni-saarland.de where we will push the code for the assignment problems, and the teams would complete the assignment by submitting their code to the repository. Further details will be provided in the first tutorial.

In order to create these repositories, please check that you have an account on https://gitlab.cs.uni-saarland.de, or create an account at https://sam.sic.saarland/users/student_signup/. In most cases you should already have an account with the same username as your university email username (you might have to reset your password).

Once this is done, please provide your account username in the CMS at https://cms.sic.saarland/hlcvss23/students/view#note5 by April 24, 2023.

Hi all,

The course this year will be conducted in-person and the lectures and tutorials will not be recorded. However, as an additional reference, after each lecture we will provide the recording of the closest related lecture (if one exists) from HLCV 2022. These will be made available in the Materials section in the CMS: https://cms.sic.saarland/hlcvss23/materials/

Please note however that the contents of the lectures this year may substantially differ from those of last year. We would also likely have lectures covering completely new topics that were not covered last year, for which no related recording exists.

So the recordings will not cover all topics and should only be used as an additional reference, and we recommend that you attend all the lectures.
