Information for the Midterm

  • The exam writing time will be 150 minutes.

Please note the following information:

  • The midterm exam will take place on the 2nd of December 2025 at 16:00.
  • The exam writing time will be 150 minutes.
  • In order to guarantee a smooth process, we ask you to be there at 16:00 sharp (s.t.) at the latest.
  • You can see which lecture hall you are writing the exam in on your Personal Status page.
  • Please bring your student ID, as well as an official photo ID (ID card/passport/...).
  • Please bring a blue or black non-erasable pen, for example a ballpoint pen, but not pencils.
  • You are allowed to bring a single(!) handwritten(!) DIN A4-sheet. You may write on both sides. Photocopies and printouts are not allowed!
    • We ask you to hand in the sheet together with the exam. You may not take it back home with you.
  • Relevant for the midterm is the lecture content up to and including last week (with the last included lecture being the one on 21st November). This week is not relevant for the midterm.
  • The midterm will be worth 32 points.

There will be no exercise sheet released today. You may use the time to prepare for the midterm. In the upcoming tutorial, you may ask any last-minute questions.

Due to the midterm, we will not have an office hour on Tuesday.

Please note the following information:

  • The Midterm will take place on Tuesday, December 2nd.

  • In order to participate, you have to register in the CMS (in your personal status page)

    • For the midterm, no registration in the LSF/HISPOS/VIPA is necessary, only the registration in the CMS.

  • The registration will be open until Thursday, November 27th, at 23:59. There will be no possibility of late registration.

  • You are allowed to bring a single(!) handwritten(!) DIN A4-sheet. You may write on both sides. Photocopies and printouts are not allowed!

  • Relevant for the midterm is the lecture content so far.

  • The exam will have 32 regular (that is, non-bonus) points that count towards the admission for the endterm and re-exam.

  • There will be no assignment sheet released on Friday, November 28th, so you can use the week to prepare for the midterm.

  • Further information for the exam will follow closer to the exam.

The tutorials have been assigned. You can see which tutorial you were assigned to in your Personal Status page on the CMS. The first tutorial will be on the upcoming Tuesday.

Should this assigned tutorial slot for some reasons not work for you anymore, you can swap tutorials if you find a person in a different tutorial to swap with. In this case, write an email to the Assistant.

Forum Active

We have a published a forum, which you can use as an additional way of communication among each other and with the lecture staff. You can find it on the CMS in the menu bar. Note that the forum is maintained at a best-effort basis. Other ways to ask questions are your tutorials & the office hours. Speaking of which...

Office Hours

There will be two office hours every week (starting with the upcoming week):

  • Tueday, 4:15pm
  • Thursday 2:15pm

Both office hours are in E1.3, seminar room 013.

Reminder: Submission Groups

You have until the upcoming Tuesday  (21st October at 23:59) to register your submission groups in the CMS. In order to do that, you have to go to your Personal Status page on the CMS, where you will find buttons to join or create groups.

Groups can be up to 3 people and are independent of the assigned tutorial slots.

Reminder: Exercise Sheet

The deadline for the first exercise sheet is on the upcoming Friday at 8am. The submission will open between Wednesday and Thursday, at which point you will be able to upload your solutions on your Personal Status page.
