Written on 27.06.21 by Martina Maggio

I have now sent you an e-mail with the specification of the project assignment. The project deadline is July 19th at 23:59 and the submission should be done via e-mail following the instructions that you received. Feel free to contact me at any point for clarifications and discussion.

Reminder: assignment 3 (on June 17th at 23:59) and 4 (on June 24th at 23:59) deadlines.

Hello there! This is just a reminder that the first Task deadline is on April 29th at 23:59. Make sure to submit your assignment on time using CMS and contact me early if you are experiencing any problem. Remember that in order to pass the seminar you will need to have completed the submission of the assignments in time. We will meet live on zoom (using the same link that you had for the first meeting) on April 30th at 10:15 to discuss the assignment and what you learned from it (hint: be ready to discuss what you found easy and what you found hard in the PID controller design, and to talk about computational delays and choice of sampling period).

Implementation of Control Systems

In this seminar we will look at practical aspects of the implementation of control systems. In the course, we will assume that a control system is designed (in the form of a linear system, including both stateful and stateless controllers) to operate a given plant. We will look at the implementation of the corresponding control code. In particular, we will discuss: computational delays and how to analyse their effect on systems, sampling period choice, finite precision arithmetic, parameter tuning, and fault management.

Requirements: Matrices and linear algebra will play an important role during the course. The Embedded Systems course is a prerequisite to attend the seminar. Note that you still have to register for the Seminar in the LSF o get a certificate for the seminar.
