Neural Networks: Implementation and Application (CoLI/LST students only!!!!)

Hello everyone,

assignment 9 has been released. Unlike previous assignments, you will have two weeks to complete it and will be required to run your code on the sic-cluster for one of the exercises. We have distributed credentials to each of you and you should be able to find them on your Personal Status page. If you cannot find your credentials on your personal status page, please notify us as soon as possible.  We also recommend that you start sooner rather than later so problems related to the cluster can be identified early on.

Working with clusters for the first time can be tedious, but this is a good opportunity to practice as you may need to work with clusters for your thesis or later in your career. (Even if you already have enough points to qualify for the exam.)

there is a mistake in the Intro to Computational Graphs in Deep Learning article linked in the assignment. 

Towards the end of the article d Y/d b is missing d Y/d e * d e/d b. So the full equation should be:
d Y/d b = d Y/d d * d d/d b + d Y/d e * d e/d b

A serious mistake has been discovered in the first version of assignment 7 (see this post in the forum). To resolve this, assignment 7 has been updated and the deadline has been extended until 05.01.2024 at 8 AM. In the updated version you will now receive 2 points + 2 bonus points in Q 2.3.1. 

We wholeheartedly apologize for this serious mistake.

Hello everyone,

unfortunately, there was a mistake in assignment 6. In the previous version of exercise 2.1 you were asked to report training accuracies after each epoch, but report test accuracies for 2.2. The intention was for you to report test accuracies for 2.1 and 2.2.

Hi, we just had discussed the Christmas break in the tutor meeting.

There will be no lecture on December 19th (due to an RTG retreat DK has to attend) and we will not issue a new assignment in that week. Tutorials will happen as planned.

In the week stating January 2nd, there will be a lecture which will be offered hybrid. Sound will be via laptop so now guarantees for the audio quality. There will be no tutorials in the first week of January.

it should be possible for everyone to select and change tutorial preferences on CMS now. You can change your preferences until Thursday, 16.11.2023 23:59.  However, this week you may go to whichever tutorial you want, regardless of which tutorial you are assigned to.
