In addition to the regular office hours held by the tutors, Tobias Mai offers an "extended office hour"; by decision of the faculty, these office hours will be held exclusively in German. During these events, specific topics from the lecture can be reviewed or discussed in greater detail. Further information can be found here.

The "extended German-language office hours" will take place during the lecture period (starting October 23, 2026) on Fridays at 2:15 pm in Lecture Hall III (Hörsaal III) in Building E2 5. All scheduled dates are also listed in the calendar.

  • The organization of the tutorials has been finalized. On your personal status page in CMS you can see to which tutorial group you have been assigned. (You can find a map showing all the buildings on campus here.)
  • On your personal status page, you also have the opportunity to form a team with up to two of your fellow students from your tutorial to work on the problem sheets and to hand in your solutions together. We would like to encourage you to make active use of this opportunity. You are welcome to use the forum to search for partners.
  • If the assigned tutorial does not suit you, you are welcome to swap places with students from other groups who are willing to do so. You are also welcome to use the forum to search for an exchange partner. Once you have found someone, please contact Tobias Mai.
  • The tutorials will begin next week (Wednesday, October 21, to Friday, October 23). All dates can be found in our calendar.

The office hours of our tutors will begin next week (more precisely on Monday, October 19, 2026). The times of the office hours and the rooms where they take place can be found in the calendar.

The office hours are open to everyone. Participation is not mandatory, but we strongly recommend taking advantage of this offer. During the office hours you may ask general questions concerning the lecture and the tutorials. We would like to point out that all office hours can also serve as a sort of "meeting point" for working on the current problem sheets; this has the advantage of having a tutor immediately available to answer any questions that arise -- and you might even pick up a tip or two ...

Please note that Problem Sheet 1 is available for download under Materials (since yesterday). Deadline: Friday, October 23, 2026, 10:00 am
