Taking place now: Annual elections for the student parliament

Written on 17.06.25 by Till Koebe

Dear students,

a kind reminder that the annual elections for the student parliament are currently ongoing. Please consider taking part in it!

A student parliament (Studierendenparlament or StuPa) in Germany plays an important role in student self-governance at universities. While its influence is limited to the university level, it is the highest decision-making body of the student body (verfasste Studierendenschaft).

Attached the official call.

All the best,
Till

Dear students,

I hope your projects are all on track! As the deadline for the poster submissions is approaching (27.06. end of day), here some details:

1) Please submit your poster in DIN A0 format as a .pdf-file via CMS.
2) Please ensure that all elements (especially the figures) are in high-enough quality so they are legible and look good when printed.
3) You do not need to print the posters yourself, we will do that for you.
4) There is no pre-defined poster template you have to adhere to. It should give the reader a good idea about what you are doing and why you are doing it (that means, summary, motivation, details on data and methods, results, shortcomings). You can find last year's poster winner as an example here for some initial orientation, if needed.

The Poster Session itself will consist of two parts: First part, your team briefly pitches the poster to the others (1-2 minutes, no slides) to spark interest. Second part, we have a poster exhibition in front of the hall where you can have a look at the other posters and explain your poster to them. At the end, you will be able to vote for the best poster and the winners get a small prize.

Hope this helps to prepare, let me know, in case you have questions.

Looking forward to all your contributions,
Till

What we expect:
- A .pdf file of max. 3 pages. Please find here (in Materials of the CMS page) an example how the interim update could like.

- The file should include a description how you get and process the data that is shown in the figure.

How to get there:
1. Discuss with your project donor/advisors what they envision as a key figure from your project.
2. Look at relevant similar papers and identify the key figures in these papers.

Dear students,

an important reminder: this project seminar is exclusively for students that are already enrolled in the B.Sc. Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program this semester! Students who plan to transfer or are in the process of transferring to the DSAI program from other programs need to check with the study coordinator if this transfer has already been completed for this semester. Also, please double-check whether your subject of study in your CMS registration reflects the program you are currently enrolled in (regardless what your future plans are), correct it, if necessary, and please notify me about the change.

The LSF system will otherwise not allow you to register with the seminar and eventually leaves your team mate as a 1-person group. I would like to avoid that, so please get in touch with me asap in case you face difficulties here.

For all other students, please register with the LSF at your earliest convenience.

All the best,
Till
