Dear students,

In the "Materials" section you can find the links for the course evaluation in Qualis (both for the lectures and for the tutorials). Please take a tiny moment to fill them in, especially given that the course is at the first iteration after restructuring (constructive feedback is always appreciated, but right now it is particularly welcome). The evaluation links are available until July 6th.

Cheers,

A few announcements that are course-related:

  • We have two more lectures: one tomorrow (June 17), and the last one next week on Tuesday (June 24).
  • There are two more tutorial slots (June 23-24; and June 30-July 1). In the first slot, we will talk about scheduling (exercise sheet 07) and in the second one you will get a chance to ask questions and discuss exercises that are not clear for the entire course (exam preparation tutorial).
  • I will post the solutions to the exercise sheets in CMS before the last tutorial slots, to give you a chance to look at them before our pre-exam discussion. However, I would recommend you to prepare your questions ahead of time. You are always welcome (also later) to take an appointment and discuss the course material. However, I will not be available after July 14th (until the exam).
  • The exam is closed book: the second page of the exam sheet will contain formulas that you can use during the exam. The formula sheet will be posted here for your reference, but you don't need to (and cannot) bring it to the exam. You will not be able to use extra material except for a calculator and (only black and blue) pens.

On a different note, the elections for the 71st Student Parliament of Saarland University will take place from June 16 to June 23, 2025. I would very much recommend to all of you to vote following this link. Note: the page is both in German and in English, even though it may be hard to see at first (as the text is mixed).

No lecture tomorrow, June 5th

Dear all,

I have received a(n alarming) message: the projector in HS002 seems to be more sick than usual (not only it is not producing the right colors, but it actually doesn't seem to project images at all). Dear all,

I have received a(n alarming) message: the projector in HS002 seems to be more sick than usual (not only it is not producing the right colors, but it actually doesn't seem to project images at all). A technician will come to assess the damage and hopefully fix it tomorrow, but there is no guarantee of having it operational again before our lecture. Given our recent shift in program, I am therefore cancelling the lecture that was planned to take place tomorrow and we will meet again on Tuesday, June 10th. I hope this unexpected break gives you some time to work on the exercise sheets!

Cheers,
-- Martina
