Hello all.

I have updated the CMS with the paper for next weeks lecture, namely GPFS (https://www.usenix.org/conference/fast-02/gpfs-shared-disk-file-system-large-computing-clusters). Please read this paper before the lecture next week so we can discuss it. Exercise sheet 2 and lecture 2 are also up on CMS.

Please keep in mind that it is not an expectation that you will finish the entire exercise sheet within one week. The exercise sheets are meant to prepare you for working on the project and to give you familiarity with the concepts in the class. As such, feel free to pick the problems that would help you practice the concepts most unfamiliar to you, and treat the exercise sheets as an opportunity to explore the tools and systems we present in the lecture. That being said, any problems that require you to work out a problem by hand will be the most relevant to what you might expect to see on the midterms.

Hello everyone.

Hope you enjoyed the first lecture of Advanced Topics in Operating Systems!

We want to start tutorials next week, so we have to find a slot that works for most people. We are planning on having two tutorial slots every week, where we discuss the exercise sheet from the week before (the exercise sheet for next week will be posted today).

To find the two slots that work for as many of you as possible, please mark all the times you could attend in this survey:

https://www.when2meet.com/?39445594-MO6ku

You don't have to put in your real name, but pick a unique identifier so we can find the slots that maximize the number of people that can attend. You can set a password to change your response later.

Looking forward to seeing you all next week
